Cheerleading
By:Kimberly Ortiz,Natalia Gonzalez (712) and Camila Aguirre (613) This year the Bleeker Cheer team is back and they are bigger and better! The team is always cheering for the sports we have here at Bleeker. In cheer, teamwork between the cheerleaders is a key component of their success. Cheerleaders will always be seen with a smile on their face and trying to cheer other people up too. While practicing, they learn and teach each other new cheers for the games they go to. The Bleeker Bulletin got the chance to interview Ms. Tonis (8th grade science teacher/cheer coach) and some of the cheerleaders about how they feel about cheerleading. Q: Why did you want to coach cheer? A: Ms.Tonis: “I like to get to know students outside of the classroom. I also like to help students do what they love.” Q:how has Cheer affected your life? A: Alyssa Baez 714: “I learned how to express my Wildcat spirit at the games and I get to socialize with the athletes and the other cheerleaders.” Q: What do you like about Cheer? A: Sehada Mrkulic 802: “We have a giant group of friends, and we are all so close. Cheer is very fun to do, we get to cheer and show our Wildcat spirit at all the basketball and soccer games, and I get to have fun times with the girls.” Everyone should go see the cheerleaders showing their school spirit at the Bleeker games!!! Special thanks to all the people that were interviewed! Make sure you support our amazing Bleeker cheerleaders!
