1. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The long awaited Harry Potter sequel has finally come out! This book introduces many new characters like Harry’s youngest son, Albus Severus, along with Scorpius Malfoy, son of Harry’s childhood bully, and Draco Malfoy. Unlike his father, little Albus is not so talented in wizardry nor does he have Harry’s brave and positive character. Scorpius and Albus end up in the same house- Slytherin, and their friendship bond grows stronger as they overcome the obstacles in their way. Another new character is Hermione and Ron’s daughter Rose Granger-Weasley, she is of course, smart and talented following after her mother’s footsteps. As the story unfolds, the characters learn and grow from their mistakes and ends up finding mysteries about themselves that they’ve never known. This book was very popular within the school earning 19 votes in the school survey. 2. Glass Sword: The sequel to Red Queen has recently come out and Victoria Aveyard fans everywhere are dying to get their hands on these. The Red Queen continues to the tell the story of the adventures of Mare Barrow. Mare is like everyone else in Stilts, she has red blood, brown eyes, and has a loving family. However, she’s a red, this means that she has the power to harness and control lightning. Mare’s world is divided by blood; those with red blood who are ordinary and those with silver blood, god-like people who have supernatural powers. Mare faces numerous challenges in this book and is used as a weapon by the royal family. On her trip to the royal palace, Mare discovers a power that she had never known about considering that her blood is Red. Amazed by the impossibility, the King forces Mare to play the role of a missing Silver princess. As she spends more and more time with the Silvers, she becomes closer and closer to them and then soon becomes the leader of a red rebellion and risks her position as princess. As the story unfolds, Mare starts betraying her loved ones as well as her heart and desires.
